Patriots 10 @ Seahawks 13

The Super-Bowl 60 rematch did not go as expected, with only 2 touchdowns being scored across both teams. With Sam Darnold being injured 5 plays into the game, the Dark Side took over and picked off Drake Maye 3 times to take home the win.

49ers 27 vs Rams 7 – in Melbourne, AU

This game was uneventful, with Myles Garett doing nothing with 0’s in all of the counting stats for this game. The Rams actually landed about 28 hours before kickoff. That was tough to overcome, with the Niners blowing them out, defeating the supposed Superteam.

Saints 30 @ Lions 31 

Monster game from both teams, coming down to the wire with the Lions leaving Ford Field with the win in OT. Amon-Ra St. Brown scored the game winning touchdown, with Lions HC Kellen Moore deciding to go for two to close the game out right then and there, which succeeded. 

Buccaneers 27 @ Bengals 33 

The Bengals came out with a hard fought victory, mostly due to their defense. Joe Burrow was decent but not great, and Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins made their fantasy owners cringe. With Ja’Marr being WR1 in most leagues, and a top 3 pick in most drafts, this is a disappointing start for the Bengals offense. Their Defense was a highlight, forcing 4 turnovers.

Ravens 41 @ Colts 23

The Ravens blew out the previous Baltimore team with a win over the Colts. Coming off of a season where they missed the playoffs, the Ravens offense was excellent. The highlight of the game was a short pass from Lamar Jackson to Zay Flowers turning into a 54-yard touchdown.

Browns 10 @ Jaguars 34

This was a bloodbath for the newly Myles Garrett-less browns. The Jaguars dominated every step of this game, and Trevor Lawrence threw 4 Touchdowns.

Jets 23 @ Titans 10

Battle of the bottom Feeders. The Titans’ defense was not up to snuff against the young and fresh Jets offensive weapons. Geno Smith completed 80% of his passes as well.

Bills 36 @ Texans 31

This game proved Josh Allen is a Madman, throwing a deep left pass to DJ Moore that was called pass interference, and they scored on the next play. This game was excellent, and the Bills come to Detroit next week to face the Lions who also had a nailbiter against a team in a southern division.

Bears 59 @ Panthers 37

These 2 teams put up an insane 96 total points. The Bears’ Caleb Williams (4 TDs) and Deandre Swift (3 TDs) had monster games, as did Carolina’s Jalen Coker (2 TDs, 138 YDs). This game was the highest scoring opener for any season in NFL HISTORY. 

Packers 22 @ Vikings 39

Justin Jefferson has returned to form with Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz under center rather than JJ McCarthy. Jefferson and the Vikings rallied with a 22-point 3rd quarter, causing the Packers to choke away their first game of the season.

Cardinals 26 – Chargers 14

Cardinals fans can relax because Justin Herbert and the Chargers were taken down by the Birds on Sunday. The Cards had a lot of offensive and defensive success, meaning the Rams are the only team in the NFC West that did not win Week 1.

Commanders 22 @ Eagles 24

This game was close, and Jayden Daniels was decent, but the Eagles dragged their way to a win. Jalen Hurts threw 3 TDs, 2 of them being to Dallas Goedert. Antonio Williams and Stefon Diggs both caught TDs, and Jacory Croskey-Meritt punched one in for the Commanders.

Cowboys 20 @ Giants 28 

Sunday Night Football saw the Giants beat the Cowboys in their opener for the first time in franchise history! Jaxson Dart threw 3 touchdowns, 2 to Isaiah Likely and another to Devin Singletary. Cam Skattebo rushed for a TD, and Jevon Holland caught a pass from Dak Prescott.

Broncos 10 @ Chiefs 31

The Chiefs’ run game is back online with Kenneth Walker III as they barreled through the Broncos. Patrick Mahomes looked like himself again, with Rashee Rice and K9 catching touchdowns. Mahomes ran one in himself, and rookie Mansoor Delane caught the first pass of the game from Bo Nix.

Fantasy Football:  3 PLAYERS YOU SHOULD START

These are not mainstream picks, but sleepers.

Brock Purdy

He will pick apart a Miami secondary that doesn’t have anyone significant. You can bet on him finding Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel Sr. four some decent yards, as well as Christian McCaffrey for decent yardage as well.

Isaiah Likely

He picked up a lot of yards last week and had 2 touchdowns. I’m salty myself not starting him over the mediocre Tyler Warren (who should have a better game against a fairly weak Chiefs secondary).

Jalen Coker

I pray that someone will pick him up through the waiver wire and let him wreak havoc on the field next week, like he did this week. The Panthers play the Falcons next week, so Coker should have a good matchup against a weaker Falcons secondary.
