Now, let’s get to the Main Event: The SCORES (that MATTER)!

Scores Overview

Lions 31 @ Bills 41

The Bills rise to 2-0 with an excellent game by Josh Allen, with 3 TDs and 248 yards completing 20 of his 31 passes. He also had 69 yards rushing and 2 of his TDs came on the ground. James Cook III had 21 carries for 135 yards and a touchdown. DJ Moore was injured last week; however, he is expected to return for Week 3.

Bengals 20 @ Texans 6

The Bengals take home the win over the Texans with Joe Burrow throwing 2 touchdowns to Ja’Marr Chase, giving him 7 receptions for 75 yards. Tee Higgins had 5 receptions for 95 yards, and Chase Brown was good, averaging 4 yards per carry this game. CJ Stroud was excellent, throwing for 353 Yards and no interceptions.

Packers 20 @ Jets 17

The Packers barely edged out a win over the New York Jets, bringing both teams to 1-1. The Jets put up a good fight, with Geno Smith throwing for 249 yards and a TD. Jordan Love is now a questionable asset, only throwing for 145 yards on 29 passes with middling efficiency. Don’t pick him up in fantasy, that’s for sure.

Saints 24 @ Ravens 17

The Saints come back in the 4th to beat the Ravens in their own barn! Hamilton High product Tyler Shough had 2 total TDs, and threw one to Chris Olave who had 8 receptions for 86 yards. For whatever reason, the Ravens went back to not running the ball in the 4th quarter, which allowed Shough to sneak into the end zone for the game winning TD.

Eagles 24 @ Titans 20

The Eagles rise to 2-0 after a close battle with the Titans. Jalen Hurts had 2 TDs, but also had 2 interceptions. Devonta Smith had a masterclass with 117 yards on 10 receptions with a TD, and Darius Cooper caught the game winner with seconds remaining on the clock.

Vikings 9 @ Bears 3

The Vikings edged out a win in a slugfest of an NFC North matchup. Nothing much happened in this game, aside from Caleb Williams getting hurt and Byron Murphy Jr. having an interception on Williams. The defenses were excellent, as was Will Reichard.

Browns 23 @ Buccaneers 19

The Browns won a game with Deshaun Watson under center throwing for 2 TDs and 223 yards. He was sacked twice. Baker Mayfield threw a TD and an interception, and only had 176 passing yards. He, like Jordan Love, is a questionable asset and the difference in efficiency between the two QBs was astounding. (Watson 80%, Mayfield 61%)

Steelers 3 @ Patriots 20

The Pats have a bounceback game after losing to the Seahawks in week 1. The blow out of the Steelers with Drake Maye throwing for 191 yards on only 22 passes. TreVeyon Henderson had a touchdown and 76 yards. Elijah Ponder picked up a strip sack on Aaron Rodgers for another touchdown.

Panthers 34 @ Falcons 3

A Bryce Young masterclass took place in Atlanta last week. 272 Yards and 3 Passing touchdowns prove he is a top 15 QB in the league. 3 passes to the Panthers’ secondary also helps, including a Pick-6 from Devin Lloyd, who had 2 interceptions. Cooper Rush wasn’t good with 2 interceptions.

Raiders 26 @ Chargers 14

It happened again. The Raiders rise to 2-0 over the Chargers and Justin Herbert, who have looked increasingly not themselves this year. Kirk Cousins threw 3 touchdowns, and Ashton Jeanty had 21 carries for 48 yards. Justin Herbert had a touchdown and 2 interceptions. He also fumbled the ball 3 times.

Seahawks 31 @ Cardinals 7

The Cards lose, falling to .500. The Seahawks, and especially JSN, had a monster game this week with Smith-Njigba catching 3 Touchdowns and having 155 yards on only 9 receptions. Marv was a ghost, but Tre McBride had a TD. The Cardinals face the 49ers this Sunday and kickoff is at 1:05 PM, on FOX.

Colts 30 — Chiefs 33

I fear the Chiefs may be back with the new backbone of their offense in Kenneth Walker III on top of the assets they already had. Patrick Mahomes threw for 372 yards and 3 TDS, those going to Travis Kelce, Jalen Royals, and Xavier Worthy. Kenneth Walker had 24 carries for 117 yards, and Kristian Fulton caught a pass from Daniel Jones.

Giants 6 — Rams 28

Aaron Donald’s return game saw the Rams defeat the Giants at home. Matthew Stafford threw 4 TDs, and Davante Adams had a monster game with Puka Nacua out with 2 TDs and 195 yards on only 8 receptions. Trent McDuffie also had his first INT in a Rams uniform. Jaxson Dart tore his LCL at the beginning of the game, putting him OUT for the rest of the season.

FANTASY: Who You Should Start This Week

Dalton Kincaid

The Bills TE had an excellent game last week. With Keon Coleman out, he’ll be a primary option for the Bills passing attack this week against the Chargers.

Bryce Young

Especially if you had Jaxson Dart as your QB. Pick him up and star him when the Panthers go into Cleveland to play the Browns.

Tyler Shough

What’s stopping him from having another masterclass? Nothing but the Raiders and Maxx Crosby.

This has been your NFL Update for week 2. Tonight, on Thursday Night Football, The Falcons play the Packers to kick off Week 3 at 5:15 PM. See you next week!
