Get ready to hear the crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd on your FM dial. KVIT-FM 88.7 The Pulse, the award winning student run station at the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT), is heading back to the diamond. This spring, we are bringing you live coverage of six premier East Valley high school boys’ baseball and girls’ softball matchups.
From March 24 through April 27, our student broadcasters will be on the ground across Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, and Ahwatukee. These broadcasts provide our students with essential play by play and live production experience while delivering local sports directly to our community.
Featuring State Champions and Top Programs
Our 2026 schedule is packed with Arizona’s elite programs. We are covering the best of the best, including:
- Corona del Sol: 2025 6A Boys’ Baseball State Champion
- Xavier College Prep: 2025 6A Girls’ Softball State Champion
- Desert Mountain: 2024–25 5A Girls’ Softball State Champion
- Casteel: 2025 6A Boys’ Baseball State Runner Up
These games highlight the incredible depth of talent in the East Valley and give EVIT Radio students the chance to cover high profile programs on a professional FM platform.
Training the Next Generation of Sports Broadcasters
The Pulse serves as a hands on learning lab for students in EVIT’s Radio and Audio Production program. Our students do it all. They serve as play by play announcers, color analysts, onsite engineers, and production staff.
By managing every aspect of the pre and post production, these students gain real world skills used in modern sports media. Now in its 11th year, Pulse Sports has grown into a premier source for Arizona high school athletics. Our commitment to excellence has earned us the title of Best High School Radio Station in the nation twice at the John Drury National High School Radio Awards.
