Bradley Beal Returns to Washington as the Suns Ge a Road Win
The Suns had one final stop on their seven-game road trip, and it was a familiar feeling for Bradley Beal, returning to his old home. Previously, Phoenix came off a disappointing loss to the Hawks. But in an early afternoon game in Washington, the Suns were eager to start strong.
In the first quarter, the Suns had a hot start. Leading 42-28, it was the former Wizard leading the way with 14 points. Devin Booker also contributed 12 points, but he finished the period with 3 fouls.
The Wizards came out in the second quarter narrowing the lead, making it a closer game. Ultimately, the Suns were able to maintain their advantage, finishing the half up 79-58. Bradley Beal remained hot with 26 points. It was also good to see Bol Bol back in the rotation, contributing 4 points, including an acrobatic mid-ranger. Former Sun Landry Shamet played aggressively and made plays.
With one half left to play, the Suns’ offense exploded. The score was 116-86, once again due to Bradley Beal’s performance. This was his best game as a Sun, including his first 40-point game with the team.
Beal finished the game with 43 points, exactly what he needed. He had been struggling with his newly fitted mask, but the familiar home feeling set him back on track. Other than Beal, it was a team win, with everyone playing great. It will be interesting to see if this was the final game for some current Suns players, with the trade deadline approaching in a few days. The Suns won 140-112 and are now 29-21. Phoenix will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.
