Lunch with Lance: Tipsy Chicken Serves Up Bold Korean Flavors in Mesa

By Lance Reece
Hey Pulse listeners and fellow food adventurers! Lance Reece here, back with another flavor-filled episode of Lunch with Lance. This time, my foodie crew and I hit up a local hotspot that’s been making waves in the East Valley: Tipsy Chicken in Mesa, AZ. If you’re on the hunt for next-level Korean fried chicken or just love discovering standout Mesa restaurants, you’ll want to keep reading.

First Impressions: Good Vibes & Great Smells
Walking into Tipsy Chicken, you immediately catch the aroma of sizzling spices and crispy chicken – a very good sign. The place has a fun, casual energy that makes it clear: they take their food seriously, but they’re all about a good time, too.
From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Their friendly smiles and attentive service set the tone for the meal – you can tell they care about both the food and the experience. Joining me on this culinary mission were fellow Pulse pros Michael Mallace and Brandon Neyenhuis, both eager to dig into some serious eats.

The Star of the Show: Korean Fried Chicken
We didn’t hold back – we ordered the 14-piece boneless Korean fried chicken, split between two signature sauces: sweet & spicy and honey butter. Each piece was crispy, juicy, and coated to perfection. The sweet & spicy had a nice kick without overwhelming the palate – a bold flavor that wakes up your taste buds. Honey butter? Rich, smooth, and comfort-food level satisfying. If you’re craving Korean fried chicken in Mesa, this is the place to be.
Sides That Steal the Spotlight
As good as the chicken was, the Tipsy Fries might have been the surprise MVP. Think perfectly crispy, flaky fries served with a truffle garlic mayo so good, we were tempted to ask for a gallon to go. Add in the refreshing pickled radish between bites, and you’ve got a perfectly balanced meal. We didn’t get everything on the menu, but dishes like the bulgogi beef and corn cheese are now firmly on our radar for next time. If those match the quality of what we tasted, Tipsy Chicken is more than a one-hit wonder.

Final Verdict: Grub or Dud?
No debate here – Tipsy Chicken is a certified GRUB. From the flavorful fried chicken to the addictive fries and laid-back vibe, this Mesa gem delivers. It’s officially earned the Lunch with Lance stamp of approval: LWL Certified.
