Fall Break Festival Lineup: Best Events & Activities
If you’re looking for something fun to do with your family and friends this fall break, look no further! These are all the best events happening in the Metro Phoenix area!
Arizona State Fair
Starting off strong, the Arizona State Fair is coming up from Thursday through Sunday, October 1 through November 1! There’s a battle of the bands, rides and games, fair food, and a wide variety of entertainment.
Pricing-wise, they offer two main options:
- Unlimited Ride Wristband ($55): Ride all day every Thursday or Sunday until 9:00 PM—plus get 2 FREE games!
- Dream Pass ($45): Enjoy any combination of 10 rides or games on any single open day.
(Personally, I’d go with the Unlimited Ride Wristband, but that’s just me.)

Garlic Festival at Queen Creek Olive Mill
Next, there is the upcoming Garlic Festival, hosted by Queen Creek Olive Mill. This yummy festival is taking place on September 19–20 and September 26–27, and is sure to scare away any vampires who dare to come near Queen Creek!
This Garlic Festival will open your eyes as you take a delicious journey through a wide array of local vendors offering creative products, live cooking demonstrations from QCOM’s Perry Rea, live music, local artisans, and more. Sample garlic-infused olive oil, taste garlic-stuffed olives, and take part in a garlic-themed tractor tour. I, for one, will be heading there this weekend, and I am super excited about it! It should be a blast!

Scottsdale Fashion Week
Now, moving on from the food, we go towards the fashion! Scottsdale Fashion Week takes place from October 8 through October 11. According to their website, “Scottsdale Fashion Week is renowned as the City’s most high-end series of fashion shows. It is a star-studded annual event with a calendar of activities sure to attract thousands of attendees. The week of events brings together designers, buyers, media, stylists, celebrities, VIPs and special guests.”
Ticket pricing depends on the day and event you attend, ranging from $15+ to $93+ and everywhere in between. This show sounds promising, and as a (broke) fashion lover, I may snag the $15 ticket myself!
Harvest in the Heritage District (Gilbert)
And last, but certainly not least, Harvest in the Heritage District runs from September 25 through November 1. Celebrate the beginning of fall with Gilbert as they launch Harvest in the Heritage District, an awesome assortment of fall-themed events.
Located in Downtown Gilbert, you can experience Family Nights every Thursday in October, interactive musical instruments, and the Great Gilbert Gourd Hunt! When attending this event, make sure you bring blankets, lawn or camping chairs, and grab a great spot for this year’s festivities!
Have a great fall break!!
