The Campo Verde Coyotes opened their 2025–26 home schedule with a statement victory on Tuesday night December 9th, dominating the Horizon Huskies 72–34 behind two standout performances and a milestone moment that brought the home crowd to its feet. 88.7 The Pulse Sports had the live call and I was part of the broadcast crew.
Freshman Star Leads Early Surge
Campo Verde star freshman Jaiyana Bogan-Jacobs who also is a dual sport athlete and won the Coyotes a state ring for flag football. Jaiyana delivered a performance well beyond her age, finishing with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 8 steals in a breakout showing. She recorded a double-double in the first half, helping Campo Verde race to an early lead that Horizon never recovered from.
Jaiyana is already considered a five-star national recruit with multiple Division I offers including Alabama, Arizona State, Louisville, California, SMU, San Diego, and lastly Arizona. Bogan-Jacobs displayed her two-way presence throughout the night, disrupting passing lanes and converting transition chances.
Jayda Haley Reaches 1,000 Career Points
Transfer Junior guard Jayda Haley capped off the win with history. Haley, who transferred from Sabino High School in Tucson, finished with 20 points, 16 rebounds and 10 steals, securing a triple-double while becoming the newest member of Campo Verde’s 1,000-point club.
With around 4:00 remaining in the fourth quarter, Haley pulled up from the right elbow and knocked down a jumper that officially pushed her past the 1,000-point mark. Play briefly paused as the home crowd erupted and teammates mobbed her at midcourt.
Additional Scoring for Campo Verde
Campo Verde also benefited from steady scoring from its supporting cast:
- Kenzie Lewis – 9 points
- Anna Manning – 7 points
The Coyotes controlled the glass, forced multiple first-half turnovers, and held Horizon to just 34 points, their lowest output of the season.
