EVIT’s 88.7 The Pulse Earns 16-National Finalist Nominations in First Year Competing at IBS High School Media Awards

The Pulse Radio students/staff in EVIT’s Radio/Audio Production program were nominated as finalists in 16 different categories at the 2025-26 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) High School Media Awards. The nominations were announced on Wednesday, with the winners to be unveiled during an awards ceremony on February 20, 2026 in New York City.

Current EVIT senior Kairis Boyles was nominated in three categories (Best Sportscast, Best PSA, Best Social Media Director), as was former EVIT student Lenore Carey (Best Specialty Music Show, Best Show Promo, Best Public Affairs Program). Meanwhile, ’25 EVIT graduate Matthew Cavazos was nominated in 4 categories (Best Talk Program, Best Sports Talk Program, Best Baseball/Softball Play-By-Play, Best Sports Director).

This is the first year that EVIT students have competed in the IBS High School Media Awards. Founded in 1940, the IBS is led by volunteers who are passionate about student media. This year, more than 3,000 entries were submitted from over 100 schools across the country and the globe.
